Given the singular adjective "soft", I created a sculpture from urethane foam which explored how that word and idea can be shown in form and surface transitions.
Deconstruction: This was an exercise in deconstructing and representing complex forms in foamcore. given a Westcox big ben, I broke it down into its basic elements and conveyed the use, purpose, and proportions in this final model.
Curves in space: To explore line elements and how different types of curves operate in space, a 3d wire sculpture was produced by merging three types of flat curves which sat on different planes.
SUrface Transitions: A short, simple study in how three carving actions can push and change a simple extruded shape. Model produced in Urethane foam.
